JOHN SEPTIMUS ROE ANGLICAN COMMUNITY SCHOOL REDEVELOPMENT

Client: Anglican Schools Commission of WA

Cost of Development: $10 to $20 million

Location: Mirrabooka and Beechboro

The purpose of these redevelopments was to transform the two campuses into modern educational institutions with cutting-edge facilities, contemporary architecture and innovative space use. Rowe Group was appointed to manage the redevelopment projects and oversee the refurbishment and construction of the following facilities:

  • Improved parking space and access
  • New Technical Drawing and Design Studio Building
  • New Performing Arts Centre and upgrade to Drama Centre and music facilities
  • New Administration Centre
  • Library refurbishment and construction of new library
  • New Middle School and Senior School Buildings
  • New Science Centre
  • Canteen and dining facilities refurbishment and extension
  • Classroom refurbishment and construction
  • New enclosed Learning Centre
  • New Gymnasium

Working with an educational organisation presents a number of unique challenges. In addition to the financial and timing constraints, the projects are affected by funding procurement, the school year, and the need to ensure that classroom and other facilities remain operational during construction.

Rowe Group has employed a systematic approach to project management, coordinating various processes concurrently, engaging builders early on to maximise savings and ensure timely delivery, and using Guaranteed Maximum Price Contracts to control costs.

  • Project definition
  • Appointment of Architect and Sub-consultants
