In the 25 years since the inception of the practice, our industry has seen many positive changes to both Perth, and Western Australia more generally. As our capital city has grown, it has become more vibrant. Our governments, at various levels, have embraced many changes to the nature of urban development. Specialist development agencies and authorities have been created and these initiatives have facilitated the city’s evolution.

When Greg Rowe established Greg Rowe and Associates in 1991 the vision was to create a boutique, specialist town planning practice with a clear vision for the future of our industry. Our reputation for quality service and rapid responsiveness quickly attracted more clients and a larger and more diverse scope of work.

It was not long before we outgrew our original accommodation in our Osborne Park office.  To cater for our increasing client base, we employed more senior staff, created two new divisions to our practice (town planning and project management) and relocated to new premises in Wickham Street, East Perth.

What started out as a business with only two staff soon became one of the State’s largest and leading town planning, urban design and project management consultancies.

Over the years we have been fortunate enough to be involved in some of the State’s largest projects in both metropolitan and regional locations. Our major and significant undertakings have included the Garden City expansion, the redevelopment of Karrinyup Shopping Centre, Port Bouvard canal and gold course estate, Southlands Boulevard Shopping Centre redevelopment, Capital Square (former Emu Brewery site) redevelopment and the Perth City Link project (sinking of rail and redevelopment).

Relevant Projects Timeline

With our continued growth and desire to facilitate a more broad-based and consolidated service provision, in 2007 we committed to the construction of our new State headquarters in Newcastle Street, Northbridge. The modern architecture and high quality presentation and finishes of our office building reflect our continued desire to remain contemporary and relevant.

As we continued to grow and broaden the nature of our services and to accommodate our regional clients and their service provision, we opened several more offices in the South West, Mid West and Pilbara regions of Western Australia.

The land and property industry continued to change and develop Greg Rowe and Associates also evolved. We too began looking at how we could modernize the face of our company. After a rigorous engagement process with our clients and stakeholders we committed to a rebrand of Greg Rowe and Associates.

In May 2013 we became Rowe Group. This rebrand was far more than a simple change of name and logo – it was a process of insight and retrospection resulting in a new and modern identity that reflects the scale of our practice, our integrated service offering and our history. With our Rowe Group rebrand came a conscious decision to dedicate three specific service streams in our business – Planning, Design and Delivery.

As Rowe Group settled into our new identity, our staff contingent continued to grow to its current complement of over 40 personnel.  Our client base continues to expand and utilize our complete approach to planning, design and delivery.

To continue to accommodate and respond to our diverse scope of work, Rowe Group introduced a new brand for project management. Proven Project Management was created as a fully owned, but separately marketed, entity providing the complete suite of project management services. With our highly skilled professionals and many year’s experience in project management, the creation of Proven Project Management was a smooth transition to develop this part of our business into the successful service provider that it is today.

As Rowe Group passes through its 25th year of operation we reflect on the significant changes that have taken place over a quarter of a century. These changes have shaped our company into one of WA’s largest property development consultancies. With 25 years of knowledge and experience behind us, we are looking forward to the future of Rowe Group and Proven Project Management in continuing to be instrumental in the growth of Perth as our capital city and the State of Western Australia.
