AMP Capital’s Karrinyup high-rise Approved
Rowe Group is pleased to be able to help secure the planning approval for the major residential development at the western end of the Karrinyup Shopping Centre site. This addition to the successful redevelopment of the Karrinyup Shopping Centre, owned by UniSuper and managed by AMP, which is nearing completion, was approved by the Metro Inner North JDAP.
The approved development includes 270 dwellings and a number of commercial tenancies, contained within 3 towers, sitting adjacent to the main street. The 24, 15 and 9 storey buildings are set to become a dramatic landmark feature on the Karrinyup skyline. The future residents will have a choice of views over the Rottnest Island and northern beaches, Lake Gwelup, Perth City and the Darling Scarp.
Rowe Group wishes to acknowledge the efforts of the consultant team which included the project architect Hames Sharley, SeeDesign, Aurecon, DMG, Herring Storer and Encycle Consulting. The approved development went through a thorough design review process and represents a significant improvement to the existing development of this portion of the site.
The approved development continues UniSuper and AMP’s ongoing commitment to the State Government’s desired outcomes for centres as outlined in the State Planning Policy 4.2 – Activity Centres for Perth and Peel, and will help ensure that the whole centre, but particularly the main street, remains a vibrant and active place.
