PLANWA, THE NEW INTERACTIVE MAPPING TOOL TO GET ACCESS TO PLANNING DATA
Did you know that the Department of Planning launched a mapping tool, that allows local government, industry and the wider community to access the latest spatial planning information and planning data across Western Australia through an online interactive map?
PlanWA is a user-friendly website that helps simplify the planning system, allowing industry, local government stakeholders or any property owner to access relevant planning schemes and policies online… Having information such as zoning and residential density codes can help them make more informed decisions, particularly in relation to any future development that may or may not be able to occur in an area”.Said Planning Minister Donna Faragher last month at the Planning Institute of Australia's state conference.
This new tool would be beneficial for about 100 local governments that did not have any online mapping system for planning purposes.
PlanWA allows users to search planning information on places of interest, enquire about planning information for specific land parcels, access planning policies and information, tailor maps for personal use, share viewing details via email and social media and connect to other map sources such as aerial imagery and Google Street View.
If you haven’t used the tool already, PlanWA can be accessed on the Department of Planning and Western Australian Planning Commission website.
